Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Creelo, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Creelo.

These terms apply to all users of Creelo, including creators on free plans and paid subscribers. We may update these terms from time to time — we will notify you of significant changes.

2. The Creelo Service

Creelo is an AI-powered video editing platform that allows you to generate video, image, voice, and music content using AI models, and combine it with your own footage in a timeline editor.

Creelo uses a credit system for AI generation features. Credits are purchased separately or included with subscription plans. Usage of AI features deducts credits from your balance.

Basic editing features (timeline editing, text, effects, export) are available regardless of credit balance.

3. Your Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Provide accurate information when signing up.
• Keep your password secure and do not share your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@creelo.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Credits, Payments, and Refunds

Purchasing credits

Credits can be purchased as one-time top-ups or are included with monthly subscription plans. All prices are displayed before purchase. Payments are processed by Polar (card) or Paystack (mobile money and cards in African markets).

Credit usage

Credits are deducted when you submit an AI generation request. The credit cost is displayed before you generate. Credits are deducted at submission — if a generation fails due to our error or our AI provider's error, credits are automatically refunded to your balance.

Refund policy

• Automatic refunds: Credits are automatically refunded if a generation fails due to our systems or our AI providers.
• Subscription refunds: Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. We do not provide prorated refunds for unused subscription periods except where required by law.
• One-time purchases: Credit top-up purchases are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact us within 14 days.

5. Your Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or generate using Creelo. This includes your video projects, imported media files, AI-generated outputs, and exported videos. Creelo makes no claim to ownership of your content.

Licence to us

By uploading content to Creelo, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Creelo service to you. We do not use your content for any other purpose, including training AI models or advertising.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to all content you upload to Creelo, including:

• Videos, images, and audio files you import into projects
• Music tracks used in your edits
• Any third-party content incorporated into your videos

You must not upload content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

6. AI Generation Features

When you use AI generation features, your prompts, reference media, and settings are sent to our third-party AI providers (WaveSpeed AI, PoYo AI, and others) for processing. By using these features, you agree to the processing of your inputs by these providers.

AI-generated outputs may be subject to usage restrictions imposed by the underlying AI model providers. You are responsible for ensuring your use of AI-generated content complies with applicable laws and platform policies where you distribute your videos.

We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of AI-generated outputs.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Creelo to:

• Create, distribute, or promote illegal content of any kind
• Generate non-consensual intimate imagery or deepfakes of real people without their consent
• Harass, threaten, or harm other individuals
• Create content that sexualises or exploits minors in any way
• Spread deliberate misinformation or impersonate real people in a harmful way
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to circumvent our credit system or access features without payment
• Use automated scripts or bots to abuse our AI generation capacity
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our proprietary systems

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without prior notice.

8. Service Availability

Creelo is provided "as is" and "as available." We strive for high uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the service that temporarily affect availability.

We are not responsible for any loss of data caused by browser storage clearing, device failure, or other circumstances outside our control. We recommend exporting important videos when you finish editing.

9. Intellectual Property

The Creelo application, branding, and proprietary technology are owned by Creelo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The core editor is built on Creelo, which is MIT-licensed open source software.

You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute Creelo's branding, user interface designs, or proprietary features without our written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Creelo and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data, projects, or content
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of revenue or profits arising from use of the service
• Any damages exceeding the amount you paid to Creelo in the 12 months prior to the claim

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions, so the above may not apply to you in full.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. On deletion:

• Your account and personal data will be deleted within 30 days
• Your projects and uploaded media will be permanently deleted
• Unused credits are forfeited and are not refundable upon voluntary account deletion
• Credit transaction records are retained for legal/accounting purposes

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. We will notify you unless doing so would compromise security or legal obligations.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through direct communication. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Ghana.

Notwithstanding the above, we prefer to resolve issues informally — reach out to us first and we will do our best to make things right.
